Did you Know? According to the US Fire administration, the second leading cause of fatal injury for firefighters who died in 2005 was vehicle crashes. In response, the following has been proposed for addition to the NFPA1 1901 Automotive Fire Apparatus Standard, 2008 edition. '' At least 50% of the rear vertical surface of the apparatus shall be equipped with a minimum of 4 inches alternating yellow and red chevron retro reflective striping sloping downward and away from the center of the vehicle at an angle of 45 degrees.'' Together we can enhance the visibility and improve the safety of our Emergency Responders.
Offers a rich, cosmetically appealing daytime appearance to enhance the look of your vehicles.
Provides superior visibility and conspicuity of the vehicle to oncoming motorists which results in improved safety for personnel and improved public image.
Total adhesive bond to the vehicle surface for the most secure application.
Resists cracking, lifting, abrasion, and impact to look like new long after application.
Screen-printable or solvent resistant topcoats available. |
Why the Chevron Pattern?
1. Enhances the visibility of emergency response vehicles that work in or near moving traffic. 2. Commands the attention of the motoring public more than horizontal stripes. 3. More effective in warning oncoming motorists allowing more reaction time to maneuver. 4. The chevron pattern is an inverted ''V'', in compliance with the MUTCD2. 1 National Fire Protection Association 2. U.S Department of Transportation's Federal Highway Administration's The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices
